Fearless Voices and Movements that Matter

Your story is your superpower.
Your voice is the bridge.
Your courage is the catalyst.

Bold Women Speak — and the world listens.

“Having a voice is not for the faint-hearted, but for the bold-spirited.  Speaking up is not about learning to speak on stage but is activating what’s deep inside you and demands a voice in your day-to-day life.

Your voice and message won’t always be popular. It may even be disruptive. But it will be well-needed and impactful.”

The Call to Rise

Hey, strong warrior.  You’re welcome here.  We’re the women who’ve walked through the fire of loss, grief, illness, heartbreak and reinvention — and now we’re using our voices to light the way for others.

Bold Women Speak is a movement and sisterhood of gutsy women (yeah that’s you!) who choose to rise from grief, find their voice even when it shakes, share their stories and wisdom, and transform their hardest womanly life experiences (a.k.a the grief and grit) into powerful advocacy movements – in the family, community or even on the world stage.

This is a unique combo of grief support and advocacy skill-building in service to humanity.

I rise. We rise.

~Grief & Loss ~Women's Life Changes ~Speaking Out ~Lead a Cause

I see you. I hear you. I know you.

You’ve often felt different (perhaps even judged as weird), alone (even though surrounded by all the people you’ve dropped your hat for), invisible (who notices you anyway as you’re usually the humble heroine or undercover angel?) and not good enough. (despite being highly talented!)

You don’t even know how awesome you are!  Or you’ve become a shrinking violet staying undercover!

On the outside, others see you as the epitome of resilience, strength, not to mention empathy, authenticity, contribution and going into bat for others. You’re a service girl after all with a kind, sensitive and caring heart.

You’ve fought some battles mostly in silence or unwitnessed.  Who knew you were struggling internally underneath your “I’ve got it together” persona?

You’ve often felt unheard in your family or in the system you had to contend with. If you had the balls to speak up, you’ve felt criticized, too vocal or demanding.  Many times, you decided to hush up and keep the peace.

But something’s been stirring inside your soul.

You’ve done the hard stuff.  You’ve sunk into grief that goes with that hard change or big, unexpected detour or two in your life.  We know that “shitty-gritty” is an important part of the grief process.

But hey it’s time to shift up a gear and turn that grief around.  What’s the next stage (literally and figuratively) for your soul?

The sticky cocoon

By now, you may be well be in what I call the “sticky cocoon”.  Visualise it.  You’re about to turn into something even more beautiful, getting out of grief and transformation is in the air, but you have to work, or even fight your way out of the chrysalis.  A sticky one!

By the way, menopause has had me facing my own sticky cocoon coming-out process, and Bold Women Speak is part of that. There are often days I wish to hide out and stay small! But I won’t stay small. And you won’t either.

You know you don’t want to stay in grief forever, but you find yourself kicking and screaming knowing that to step out in what know is your soul calling (ie resurrection of self and life becoming unrecognisable) is darn scary.  You may not even know what it looks like and that takes a whole load of faith to stop staying in hiding.

I’m here to help you get out of the sticky cocoon. Side by side.

The world’s a mess and you’re the messenger!

But here’s an equally important reason why it’s time NOW to get out of your “sticky cocoon.”

More than ever at this time in history, things are falling apart or even broken, and change is not just needed.  A revolution is required.  And we feel it in our bones. Yes.  You, me and other sassy women!

We need bold voices like you and me especially in the areas of health, women’s wellness, death, loss and grief, trauma and abuse, domestic violence, maternal health, child and baby loss, mental wellbeing, parenting, relationships, menopause and aging.

It’s not about just glueing those same-old pieces together to put that system back together as we found it.  It means an overhaul!

Count yourself as a change-maker, a disrupter, a well-needed balm!  I call it Bold Voice Medicine that will heal many a broken system and be a saviour to many people who are sad, grieving, hurt, lost, lonely, misrepresented or feeling helpless, silenced and unsupported.

I rise. We rise.

About Janelle — Your Guide on the Journey

I’m Janelle Fletcher — certified grief coach, voice mentor, writing coach, storyteller, engaging presenter, event gal, celebrant, advocate for women and causes and visionary founder of Bold Women Speak.

I also walk my walk and talk my talk having been through my own share of reinvention following grief and loss. In awe of the gutsy women who choose to rise.

Warrior, Nurturer, Advocate, Sage, FreeSpirit

Like you, I have walked through many “fires” of grief, reinvention and rediscovery.

For me that included losing my grandmother as a teen, eating disorder and depression, always feeling different, infertility, baby loss, taking on a mother’s children after she was killed, parenting a large family including one child with a disability, divorce, sole parenting, losing everything financially, empty nest, the fabulous menopause and now stepping into new terrains of advocacy.

Instead of playing victim, I have always rallied my resourcefulness and became strong of heart.  Voice, courage, my personal truth, and faith in action have become my “go-to’s” and my medicine.

“Sisterhood is not sisterhood when we need to swallow our words.  Imagine celebrating with heart-lead, service-orientated ladies who love hearing your deep unexpressed needs, greatest desires, biggest struggles and breakthroughs, self-praise and success-celebrating, and authentic, honest expression of who you are and what difference you’re making in the world through your voice.”

The “oh-heck” challenge at the collective level

But oh-heck. Speaking up at a collective level takes something. It demands we become invincible in our self-worth, keep our conviction (and our “why”) strong, and muster up the internal strength to buffer any backlash.

But girlfriend, we’ve done our PhD in this!

You might not feel you’re a writer, nor a speaker.  You may never have seen yourself as an advocate, a justice-fighter or a voice to date. Perhaps you feel you don’t have anything significant to say. But you do, because you’ve lived it and breathed it!

Are you one of the few to conquer your fear and care about where humanity is heading but overwhelmed where to start?

Let’s do it together!

Your flight path to soar

Sassy Sisterhood – revolutionising being awesome!

This is your invitation to rise — not alone, but together.
In sisterhood. In safety. In strength.

Because when women speak, systems shift.
When stories are shared, silence is broken.
And when one voice rises, a thousand more are set free.

A community where we celebrate and co-elevate each other – speaking, writing, sharing our stories, advocating, or just doing brave day-to-day “speaking up” encounters.

We’re all about being sassy, strong, and soul-lead women on a mission with our voices. We are kin.  We are tribe, and we fiercely hold each other’s souls to account.
